Ummm... wow. It's not often that I am left speechless, but this is one of those rare moments. The animation's nice, and the overall flash was funny. Other than that, I was just confused in the end. A 10/10. XD

Deliver That Fulp

"A great idea from the old-school way."

submission: Deliver That Fulp

The game is really simple, taking the mechanics of text-based PC games and making it into a short, simple, yet challenging flash game (well, the challenging part is when it comes to getting Medals, anyway). Overall, the game is good. The only thing this game lacks is some real replay value. Other than that, this can give people unfamiliar with text-based games hours of play time.

Here's some guidelines for those of you who simply rate this game below a 5/10 for being "too hard". As you know, this is a text-based game, so you need to figure out the commands to give to the doctor. I won't give too much away as to be a complete cheat guide, but I'll give some hints at commands...

- Look: As the description states, use this to get a feel of your sorroundings and come up with a plan as to what you need to do.
- Take: Use this command to take any given object available.
- Use: Use this command to use whatever object you have taken (as the command suggests).
- Medals: Displays the list of possible Medals obtainable in the game. There are quite a few, and some of them require specific commands to achieve - commands other than the ones I'm listing.

There, I hope that helps. If it doesn't, then too bad for you. Oh yeah, for my score for this game... I'll rate this a 9/10 for simplicity and ease of play. The only thing barring a perfect 10 is the leck of replay value. Hope you find this review constructive. If not, then pity for me, I guess.

Tiananmen Square

"Not bad at all."

I'm always a fan for the old-school - the gameplay and 8-bit graphics makes this game nostalgic. The increasing difficulty level as you clear stages makes this game all the more fun. Easy to play, yet hard to master; always a good quality. The music (albeit repetitive) is a bit catchy, and the Game Over screen was funny (in my opinion). 9/10.

3D Fighting:Bloody Rage 2

"Interesting 3-D..."

date: March 23, 2009

Well, here's my take on it, each critique with their own category.

Graphics: The one thing that stood out to me was the 3-D design. I must say it's the first time I've seen 3-D graphics in a Flash game. Whether this is the first game to do so is beyond me. Overall, the character design was actually not bad, and the design for some of the battle arenas were pretty good too - had roughly the same quality as a very early Playstaion game.

Controls: The control scheme was also nice in the sense that there's an option to customize the buttons (that's always a plus for me). The only thing that bothers me, is that sometimes the controls are not responsive in the time you want them to. When I go to block, it wouldn't block immediately, I try to fire a Hadouken but perform a Shoryuken instead, etc..

Sound: The game has no music at all. It doesn't necessarily penalize the game of points, but some music to bring the player in the mood to play can always help. The voices of the characters were all the same with no variety - that's one of the things that vexed me the most about this game. Giving more voices for each character, rather than recycling the same voices would've made it better for me.

Design: The one thing that also vexed me (probably the most) is the lack of special moves unique to each character. Every one has the same move. It's made even more depressing in the fact that there are so many characters with great potential to be unique. Whether this was a spacing (file size) problem, or something else is beyond me. It would've been nice to see Hellzone Grenade or Web Shot from Piccolo and Spiderman respectively. The hit detection was actually rather good; not exactly "spot on", but still really good. The slow movement and very floaty jumps almost remind me of the first Virtua Fighter game for the Sega 32X (if anyone remembers that)... unfortunately, that isn't a very good thing. The customization of colors is pretty nifty, which gives a feel for uniqueness, and the option for two-player fighting is also great. The Cheat Code option seems rather redundant - to my knowledge, there appears to be no FAQ or anything of the like for cheat codes and how to unlock characters.

Overall: It isn't a great game, mostly from the monotony of moves and voice clips, but the graphics and controls give any other game to follow some rather good potential. The 3-D designs does show you put some effort into it, but as stated before, the movepool for characters and sound (mostly voices) needs more variety. I hope you find this review to be helpful at all. Oh, yeah, for my score, I'll give this a 6/10; not bad, but not great either... Just average.

Dante's Inferno w/ Mario

"Wasn't bad at all."

date: March 22, 2009

I'll have to admit this was an interesting take on The Divine Comedy. Overall, the jokes were okay, the references were pretty funny, the animation was alright, and the voice acting was okay as well (left a bit more to be desired, in my opinion). Overall, I liked it. It wasn't bad for what it is, or what it parodied. I'll give this a fair 8/10. :3

Madness Aggregation

"Interesting addition."

date: March 16, 2009

An interesting addition to the Madness Combat series. After seeing all of these, there is something that seems to bother me (and maybe several other people)... What exactly is the story behind the Madness Combat series?

If there isn't already, there should be some kind of file system or video explaining what the plot and story behind it all really is. I'm not exactly sure how Hank became the way he did near the end of the video either, outside of being placed in a machine.

It appears Hank works for some organization as seen with the introduction of the two characters shown in the beginning of the video. Whether this theory of mine is anywhere near correct is beyond me.

I also wondered where the first Madness Combat fits into the story (if it even fits at all). I don't know if the first one is canon, or is used as merely an introduction to the entire Madness Combat series in general.

As for this video, the animation was great, as was the detailing. The various ways of killing were cool, but it seemed overall much shorter than the other installments. Overall, though, I believe it still lived up to the Madness Combat spirit, and that's what really counts. This video gets a 10/10 from me.

"It wasn't really good."

submission: Lin's Dick

Initially, by the title name and cover picture, my initial thoughts was to not expect much. Unfortunately, that's exactly what happpened - not much of this video was really great. The animation was decent, at least, but the whole idea of a penis talking about the "good ol' days" with flashbacks added in was more of a "swing-and-a-miss" for me. I'm sure there are people on Newgrounds who can appreciate the humor for what it is, but overall, it just didn't seem to work out very well. A nice attempt, but I think it could have been much better.

Weebl and Bob : Gooshine

"Pretty funny."

date: March 12, 2009

I liked the video. It was pretty funny. The jokes were alright - nothing really much to say about it. This falls under the category of "letting the video speak for itself". With that said, I'll rate this a fair 8/10. It was simple, yet it was the simplicity of the plot that made it effective. Good work.

The TRUE death of Hinata

"Interesting take on Naruto... namely, Hinata."

date: March 12, 2009

This video wasn't bad. Mind you, I'm no Naruto fan (though I know of the series and many of the characters), but I did enjoy the jokes and campiness of the video. It's as if it pokes fun of the clichés that the Naruto series contains, and seems to be aware of the clichés it is mocking by breaking the "fourth wall". Overall, it's not bad. One thing to note, is that Hinata isn't actually dead in the series, but rather recovering. Other than that tiny little non-canon, I enjoyed the video.

"Nice presentation."

date: March 12, 2009

The animation was very fluent. The art-style was very simplistic, but it worked very well with the animation and general idea of the video. The music was pretty interesting - a bit catchy, actually. The highlight of the video was the rather abrupt and unexpected ending; I thought it was rather funny. Overall, I will rate this a 10/10 for animation, simple design/point, and the ending.
